football ticket raffle to benefit the Arthritis Association of Louisiana

Once again this year, a generous benefactor has given the AAOLA FOUR 2009 LSU Football season tickets to raffle. That's four tickets to each 2009 home game -- a retail value of approximately $2,500, but to LSU fans ... just about priceless.

photo of view from section 617 The raffle tickets are only $20 each, and the winner will receive seats 1-4 in the Upper West Deck, Section 617 for every 2009 LSU home football game. The drawing will be held on Friday, September 4, at 3 p.m. You do not have to be present to win.

So how do you get hold of some chances to win? Buy your tickets online using our secure shopping cart service through AuctionPay. You can also call the office at (225) 761-8230 (toll free 1-866-390-8736), e-mail Karen Kennedy, or check with a board member you know (click on Who we are).

More Summer News at AAOLA

National Arthritis Month may be over, but summer's just beginning -- and there's plenty going on at AAOLA!

First and foremost: If you haven't been here recently, you may not have seen our exciting announcement that we're launching an e-newsletter! Please sign up using the form at left, under the table of contents. We promise not to overload your in-box. We're planning to send a brief but informative monthly e-newsletter and occasional e-mails when we need to announce breaking news or special events. We're very excited about this new, additional way to educate and serve the people of Louisiana, especially those living with arthritis.

We are cosponsoring another free joint pain seminar (this one focused on hip pain) on Wed., June 10, along with Stryker Orthopaedics. Check out our calendar page frequently for more information on events like this one.

And if you have a child in your life who suffers from juvenile arthritis, don't forget about Camp J.A.M.! This year's camp will be July 31-Aug. 2 in Eunice, La. Camp J.A.M. is both fun and educational and is free to the family. If you would like to reserve your space -- or if you can help out by volunteering or donating -- please contact the AAOLA right away. Thank you!

We are also beginning to plan our 11th annual Tribute to Excellence Gala, which will honor Bobby Yarborough, co-owner of Manda Fine Meats in Baton Rouge and a well-known philanthropist in our community.

So be sure to sign up (above left) for our new e-newsletter, which will keep you updated on all of these exciting events. And please come back and visit this site often for news and information on AAOLA events in 2009!
